A City that emerges from deep below

In a city where people can find as many artistic proposals as days of the year, the “Ciudad Emergente” Festival aims to give a bit of support to those artists who are in the process of travelling so as to reach the surface.
The stylish neighborhood of Recoleta will change for a few days its usual snobbish air so as to be painted with the national and international rock colors. Street dance, films, fashion, poetry, digital art and music, of course, will be the main characters of five full days of pop art.

For those who are used to frequenting bars and cultural centers of Buenos Aires, this will be the perfect opportunity to see bands like Onda Vaga, Bicicletas, Banda de turistas and Les mentettes. For those who do not even know that rock is much more than Los Piojos or Divididos, this is an excellent chance to get in contact with new styles and listen to those great musicians who usually dive through the artistic waves of the City.

The second edition of the Festival Ciudad emergente is organized by the City’s Ministry of Culture, and its objective is to provide a space for those young bands that represent rock culture at the end of the first decade of the twenty-first century.

The activities begin on Thursday 11 with the presentation of the Mexican Ximena Sariñana and end on Monday, June 15. The closure will be in charge of the Chilean band GEPE, the Brazilians Macaco Bong and the Spanish bands Second and Russian red. All activities will take place between 3pm and 10pm.

There are those who remain in the background and those who learn to fly. But there are also are those who step by step come into view, with the goal of expressing what is going on in their heads and what they feel through their art. For those: five days of festival and a big mouthful of air.
