Erasing borders

Since he was a boy teachers told him he had problems. He went through different kindergartens and even the art teacher asked her mother not to send him anymore because he would paint on the walls. However, what for some people were "problems" eventually became art.

Since always, John Toresain had much to give.
Passed through the accountant career, Fine Arts at the IUNA and today, at the age of 33, is technical chemical colorimetry. This strange mix creates Sakaivj, an artist who breaks the traditional barriers to create art with contemporary techniques.

What kind of paint do you use?
I Work with the same pigments that are developed with the automotive colors, because they are technologically the most appropriate to a contemporary artist. The painting is 500 years and 120 the acrylic, these paintings are very high in pigment which enables me to obtain a high purity in terms of colors.
I paint with chemical reactions; I like to destroy the paintings. Make incompatible mixtures of resins and solvents, and that gives me the possibility to obtain different textures, glosses, finishes ... genre these reactions for a final pictorial composition.

Sakaivj can use more than ten liters of paint per square meter, to give an idea, a car carrying four liters complete. It currently has more than 250 paintings arranged in six series.

Regarding the composition, aims to create something special or you take leave for the same reactions?
Working the composition of the painting was the most difficult to obtain, and years later that pictures are the best wealthier developed. The composition must be made quickly, with two or three strokes you have to resolve the issue of pictorial balance.

When he is painting, Sakaivj empty his mind in the frame. He Puts his head in white for a short rest in the brain.

And why did you start interesting in the process?
The process is much more visually rich that the final painting, today I can say that a process is a painting. Some time ago I began to document them in digital form for further studies. Then I animated the reactions in video, and also worked as director of photography in animated films. I am currently conducting an animated short about the life of Vincent van Gogh in Arles.

What does it means Sakaivj?
I have a friend who is the restorer of the Museum of Modern Art, I spent a lot of time there and the work of the Impressionists broke my head, I am a great admirer of Kasuya Sakai. I love painting, but for me the digital format is much more current than pictures. Da Vinci was the first to change the visual perspective, based on everything he saw as a reflection of a mirror. Then Van Gogh broke the perspective of the great Renaissance masters, opening the door for a continued change in the century XX. Today there is a new transformation, a new visual perspective. At the moment I am working on electronic works, because I get the audience to interact with the physical-chemical reactions.

How's that for electronic works?
VR is an interactive installation in real time, which provides a re-painting in front of the modes of observation to propose new technologies. During the process of painting pictures, paintings physico-chemical reactions that are documented in digital video format, and then returned in a facility that records the reactions of the observers. In the pictorical painting, the artist has the materiality of paint and can translate their painting from this book proposes a materiality mediated by digital technologies. The facility, through the use of new technologies, suggests prioritizing the process of implementation and design of the tables above.

A modern explosion where colors are literally alive. His art is movement, it is process, is a game of emotions that make short circuit in the mind of the viewer. His art dance, float and explodes. His art can be display in plasma. His art erase the border with the technology. Is that his art cannot be calm, less quiet, because if it did, it would not be Sakaivj.
