A bit more about Jaeger-LeCoultre through this year

Jaeger-LeCoultre shines at the Cannes film festival. Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre, the reference in Swiss fine watchmaking,  opened a new "embassy" presenting its collections and its exceptional expertise. Cannes thus becomes the third Jaeger-LeCoultre Boutique in France, along with the existing ones in Paris (Place Vendôme) and Lyon, and the brand's 28th own-name boutique worldwide.

Amid the various glittering red-carpet events and the awarding of the prestigious Palme d'Or, the 62nd International Film Festival thus also witnessed the inauguration of this new Jaeger-LeCoultre showcase. The official ceremony was attended by the Deputy Mayor of Cannes Bernard Brochand and by Jaeger-LeCoultre CEO Jérôme Lambert, as well as by the elegant brand muse Diane Kruger, who wore a Reverso Squadra Lady jewellery watch for the occasion. Diane Kruger, a talented ambassadress
Starring in Quentin Tarantino's latest film "Inglourious Basterds", Diane Kruger also threw the spotlight on the famous 101 watch by Jaeger-LeCoultre with its famous movement - still featured in the Guinness Book of Records as the world's smallest mechanical movement - which is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year. She lit up the red carpet with a 101 leaf-motif 1954 model from the heritage collection of the Manufacture.

"Inglourious Basterds". A luncheon organised by Jaeger-LeCoultre brought together the various actors chosen by Quentin Tarantino for his latest film. This cinematic celebration was graced by the presence of Diane Kruger, as well as Christophe Waltz - winner of this year's Best Actor award - Mélanie Laurent, Donny Donowitz, Daniel Brühl, Til Schweiger and the famous director himself.

Jaeger-LeCoultre brings a touch of glamour. Jaeger-LeCoultre regularly glides along red carpets on the wrists of the world's most famous celebrities. At the 2009 Cannes Film Festival, Jury member Robin Wright Penn was wearing a Reverso Lady. In September 2009, the Haute Horlogerie reference brand and the Movie world have another date at the famous "Mostra" Film Festival in Venice, which Jaeger-LeCoultre has officially partnered for the past 5 years.

A glamorous champion. The recent Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix also saw the Master Extreme LAB watch whizzing round the track on the wrist of the race winner, English driver and current championship leader Jenson Button.

Jaeger-LeCoultre supports film-making as Official Sponsor of the Venice International Film Festival. Two worlds in which movement is an art, history means wealth and time spells energy. Movies share with Jaeger-LeCoultre the kind of visionary spirit nurtured by tradition, the magic of a perfectly controlled yet perpetually evolving mechanism. Within this eminently cultural context, the Manufacture has chosen to celebrate the 80th anniversary of its star movement, Calibre 101, on the red carpets of the Cannes Film Festival as well as at the famous Mostra festival in Venice which it is partnering for the fifth year running. From September 2nd to 12th 2009, the brand will be escorting silver screen icons in the City of the Doges with a dream cast of eight one-of-a-kind creations, each setting a unique stage for the amazing Calibre 10.
